Please find below useful information for Blue badge holders in Guernsey, for the Liberation Day celebrations.

BLUE BADGE PARKING

The organisers have worked with the Guernsey Disability Alliance and the Guernsey Access Group to make access arrangements for wheelchair users and ambulant disabled in St Peter Port on Liberation Day.

Tuesday 9 May

The Port Authority 47 of the parking bays – St Julian’s Pier. (The North Beach walkway side of the road, across from the White Rock Cafe) are reserved exclusively for blue badge holders.

Additional Blue Badge parking will be available at:

  • North Beach car parking (usual Blue Badge bays)

  • Le Carrefour by Creasey’s Bordage

  • Left hand side of Fountain Street (alongside the market buildings if driving down)

  • The Albany

DISABLED TOILETS

Accessible toilets will be available at the following locations on Tuesday 9 May:  RADAR keys are available from the Guernsey Information Centre.

  • North Beach – accessible with a RADAR key.

  • Guernsey Information Centre – no RADAR key required.

  • Market Square – accessible with a RADAR key plus an additional portable accessible toilet – no RADAR key required.

  • Albany / Bus Terminus – accessible with a RADAR key.

  • Albert Pier – portable accessible toilet – no RADAR key required.

  • Crown Pier – accessible with a RADAR key plus an additionalportable disabled toilet, no RADAR key required

  • Bus Terminus – accessible with a RADAR key

Seating note from the organisers:
There will be seating for 350 people and space for wheel chair users in the Homefront Marquee on Crown Pier. The Homefront Marquee is where the Liberation Church Service can be watched – televised live from the Town Church from 11:00 to 12 noon that will be followed by a programme of the very best 1940s music from 12 noon to 5pm
