The States of Guernsey 2018 Budget.
Proposal for Social Investment Commission.

The States of Guernsey has released details of the 2018 Budget proposals and we’re pleased to share with you the news that they have included plans to set up a Social Investment Commission to support the local charitable sector.
This is a major step forward, and follows many months of discussions, together with pressure from the AGC for increased support for local organisations.
The proposal would also see changes to the current system for reclaiming tax on charitable donations, which is something that the AGC has sought to improve for many years.
The AGC originally submitted a paper to the States of Guernsey concerning the formation of a Social Investment Commission and, although some details have since changed, there is a copy of the original paper which you can download below.  It provides some background and context for the proposed Commission, and details of how it might operate.
