We are a Special Needs Football Club and take players from the age of 14. We are called Guernsey Dynamics. The coaches are fully qualified with first aid, and child welfare qualifications.
We train once a week for an hour and a half (venue to be arranged).
We travel off Island in June to compete in the George Best Community Cup tournament which sees around 72 teams take part all in different categories of disability. We don’t like to use the word disability as this has previously put off players coming to us who are slow learners, autistic etc, as they don’t seem themselves as having a disability, that is why we are now know as Guernsey Dynamic Football Club.
We have booked a place for this years tournament in June from 13 – 18.
We normally charge our players £200 towards the trip which covers their air fares to Birmingham, Birmingham to Belfast return, accommodation, meals and taxi transfers. They will also need spending money. The total cost per player last year was just under £800 so they make quite a saving. Some players would go and get a sponsor to cover the cost of the trip which helped them.
We do have trips over to Jersey to play their teams usually annually.
We are a friendly club and do not tolerate bullying, bad language or anti social behaviour whilst playing for us.
