The Education Department published their Vision document in March.  It’s their equivalent of HSSD’s 2020 Vision and is intended to establish their guiding principles for many years to come. The document is brief and very high level – more detail will follow in future States reports – and it doesn’t have a separate section on Special Educational Needs (SEN).  Nevertheless, much of the content can be related to students with SEN, most notably a firm emphasis throughout on inclusion and equality of opportunity.
One of the core values of the Vision is ‘providing an inclusive system that puts learners of any age at the centre, establishes equality of opportunity for all to realise their potential and ensures that each learner develops the knowledge, understanding and skills they need to pursue a happy and fulfilling life.’
