GDA members and supporters taking part in the Saffery walk can choose 3 options:
Chouet to town (checkpoint 6)
Bordeaux to town
Waitrose to town (our own leg)
All walkers must register with the GDA, and be accompanied.
There is £15 entry fee plus sponsorship forms for further fundraising if possible (goes into the pot for all 28 charities including the GDA and many member groups)

Chouet to Bordeaux
Section miles: 8.2km / 5.1 Miles – Cumulative miles: 55.0km / 34.2 miles
Leaving the car park turn left and walk along the road for a short distance to a rough track on the left. Take this path and follow it past a disused quarry on your right. This will take you around the Chouet Tower and around the back of the pistol range. As you come across the car park, head towards the boulders across the track that leads behind the Refuse Top and on towards the bird hide. Take this path right round to La Jaonneuse Bay. Walk towards the small fort on the headland and follow the path to the right which takes you to Pembroke and on towards L’Ancresse, Fort Doyle and Beaucette Marina. Walk behind the restaurant and follow the signs.
Check point 7
Bordeaux to the Finish – Section miles: 7km / 4.3 Miles – Cumulative miles: 62.0km / 38.5 Miles
From the checkpoint, walk across the car park towards the kiosk and past to the left following the path up the small incline. From the Vale Castle car park walk around St Sampsons Harbour to Bulwer Avenue. Continue along to Richmond corner and along Bas Courtil and then the pavement along Les Banques. Keep heading towards town and the FINISH at the Liberation Monument.
