As you may be aware G4 (IOD, GIBA, Chamber of Commerce, CGI and CIPD) have announced a call to delay the debate on the new Discrimination Ordinance. You can read their statement here, which was also followed up by interviews on media Saturday.

The GDA has been campaigning for 12 years for Equality Opportunity for islanders with disabilities and carers. The Disability and Inclusion Strategy was unanimously approved in November 2013 – more than 6 years ago. The ground of Race has been waiting over 50 years to be protected and women (CEDAW) more than 17 years. The GDA, along with Equality Guernsey, are calling on P&R to ensure the debate is held in April (22-24th) as requested and not delayed.
