The Guernsey Society for Physically Disabled People (Ron Short)
The Society is a local charitable organisation, which operates from the Ron Short Centre at Beau Sejour. It is committed to helping people of all ages in the Bailiwick of Guernsey who have physical or sensory disabilities. It’s work includes direct, social, financial and welfare assistance. It also runs a sheltered workshop at the Ron Short Centre (Monday to Friday), producing a range of goods for sale to the public. Each week, the Society hosts a handicrafts afternoon for ladies and two social afternoons for men.
The society is keen to encourage its younger members educationally and socially, and has a thriving Youth and Social club. Competent staff and/or helpers ably supervise all activities.
