The post of Disability Officer was created by a resolution of the States of Guernsey in October 2009.
Four people have held this post, Emma Jones, Emilie Yerby, Caroline Mullins and the current Disability Officer is Gill Evans.
The Disability and Inclusion Strategy for Guernsey was passed by the Statesin November 2013. There are a number of projects under the Strategy and theDisability Officer is responsible for two of the main projects:
- providing information and information services
- ensuring that States’ policies, services and buildings will meet the discrimination legislation that is currently in development.
