Changes were introduced on the 1st July, 2021 meaning that everyone who has had 2 vaccinations at least 14 days ago does not have to isolate when coming to the Island including returning residents.
There are a number of conditions to be complied with. If you are travelling off Island make sure that you have up to date information and all the relevant documents. It is best to go the the Gov.gg website at:
Travelling to and from the Bailiwick | States of Guernsey – COVID-19 (gov.gg)
Anyone travelling into the Bailiwick, including returning residents, will need to register on the Travel Tracker, whether they have had 2 vaccinations or not. See:
https://covid19.gov.gg/guidance/travel/traveltracker
If you have had both vaccinations more than 14 days ago there will be no isolation or testing requirements if you are arriving from the Common Travel Area. This means you will be in the “blue channel” travel category.
If you are travelling it can take some time to go through the system, although help is available. Make sure you check you have the correct vaccination certificate which is the one sent to you in the post – not the small card issued at the vaccination centre with the batch numbers on it. You will need to have had both vaccinations to have received the certificate through the post.
We would be interested in any feedback from anyone who has been through the new system or if you have been unable to use the system for any reason. Please email carol@disabilityalliance.gg .
