Although there were a few spots of rain, that didn’t stop a large crowd of Dave Purdy’s friends and family gathering at the Market Square Ramp to watch the Bailiff unveil a memorial stone in Dave’s honour on Friday 11th November.

Before unveiling the stone, the Bailiff spoke of his memories of Dave and how right it was that he be honoured in this way. He spoke without notes but many of the personal stories he’d shared about his friendship with Dave were reproduced on BBC Guernsey later on the Friday evening news. He also emphasised the significance of Dave’s memorial stone being sited halfway up towards a “level playing field”. To listen, click here
