Huge congratulations to Deputy John Gollop, the new States’ Champion for Disabled People.
The decision of disabled islanders and their supporters was loud and clear – John won 60% of the votes cast (259 votes). Turnout was 71% (435 votes).
Sincere thanks to Deputies Lester Queripel and Arrun Wilkie for embracing every element of a really positive election. You have helped bring disabled people together and raise awareness across the island and we are grateful to know we have your support in the States.
The full result, as recorded by David Robilliard, Deputy Registrar-General of the Royal Court, was:

609 persons were eligible to vote. The total number of voters was 435 and the turnout was 71.4%.
