The GDA was invited to a presentation of cheques and awards at Government House following the Saffery Rotary Walk 2023.

The GDA had been chosen to be one of 25 beneficiaries on the 25th anniversary of the walk. We completed the much shorter and flatter accessible route from Bordeaux to North Beach. Others participated in relay teams or completed the whole walk around Guernsey or other sections.

We are very pleased to be one of the beneficiaries, and Catherine Hall, Vice-chair of the GDA went to meet His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor Lieutenant General Richard Cripwell CB, CBE and Mrs Louise Cripwell and to receive the cheque of £2,500. This amazing amount will go towards establishing the new way forward for social media support for raising awareness and changing attitudes about disability and ensuring our members voices are heard.
