New Accessible Hub

GROW has announced the opening of its Community Hub which will provide office space, shared training areas and the use of modern facilities for co-locating charities at discounted rates. A variety of accommodation is available including the ability to lease a ‘hot desk’ in a fully serviced office shared with other operators, similar to the well established system at Digital Greenhouse.

Rooms ranging in size to accommodate between three and eight desks are also offered.

GROW Hub members will also be able to hire a range of meeting rooms, the board room, the canteen and life-skills kitchen at very competitive rates. All the areas are accessible with a lift to the first-floor accommodation and co-locators will have ‘out of hours’ access.

Whilst parking is limited onsite, GROW is encouraging ‘active travel’ with covered bicycle spaces and a new bus layby at the Coutanchez.

Working Together

GROW General Manager, Karen Blanchford said, ‘For the first-time disability charities will have the opportunity to cross collaborate and share ideas and knowledge, becoming part of a dynamic community. Sharing joint training and workshops will help forge stronger partnerships while, at the same time, developing more effective use of skills and experiences within the sector.’

Access to Arts and Crafts Space

Wigwam Support Group LBG, which provides friendship and advice for families of children and young people with special needs, has already moved in. Susie Gallienne, Family Support Coordinator at Wigwam says:
‘We are delighted to be part of a community of charities that support people with disabilities, all of us operating from the same building. For our children, we will have access to spaces for arts and crafts and other hobbies and, of course, gardening and growing. The GROW site is in the middle of the island and offers plenty of space which is perfect for people with sensory issues. We are looking forward to developing Wigwam further in our new home.’
