The GDA is absolutely delighted to have been given a grant of £20,000 towards the cost of the salary of the part-time Social Policy Director for 2024 by the Guernsey Community Foundation.

This grant covers a percentage of the Social Policy Directors Salary, which makes up around 50% of our expenses. 

Toni De Kooker, Chair of the GDA explained. “Receiving this grant is a significant uplift for the GDA, facilitating the advancement of our strategy to amplify the voices of those impacted by disability. Following member consultations, it was evident that there remains a substantial amount of work, which cannot be solely undertaken by our outstanding volunteers. This funding allows us to maintain a part-time dedicated position, serving as a central hub for the charity to continue to grow from. Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone at the Guernsey Community Foundation for making this a reality.”
