Guernsey’s first Disability and Inclusion Strategy has been published and will be debated by the States of Guernsey (our island government) on Wednesday Nov 27th 2013.
At Le Murier School on Monday 21st October, the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister took disabled islanders and carers through each element of the Strategy. While questions were asked about support and services, overall the audience were genuinely appreciative of Policy Council’s commitment to make sure that disabled islanders and carers are included in island life.
The States have produced a brief booklet summarising the Strategy. You can read it and print it by clicking here or go through it section by section on the States website.
If you would like to read the results of the Disability Needs Survey that the States conducted last year, go to the bottom of the Disability Strategy page on the States website.
